Burmese invasions, tin mining, rubber trading, various religious beliefs and
tourism have all played a role in shaping the Phuket we all enjoy today. On this
tour guests can relax and enjoy a trip back in time as the Laguna Leisure Host

Itinerary

Pick up from resort by air-conditioned minibus and travel to Phuket
Town. Along the way, the Leisure Host will inform all guests of the
principles of Thai Culture and history of Phuket. |

Arrive at Koh Sirey Temple. A beautiful and quiet temple,
constructed in the 1960s on a hill overlooking Phuket Town, the
Andaman Sea and local sea gypsy village (the largest settlement of
Urak Lawoi sea gypsies in Thailand). This temple has a large, 19m
long, 5m tall, reclining Buddha with eyes of pearl, donated by King
Bhumiphol and Queen Sirikit of Thailand. |

Arrive at Old Phuket Town. Walk around on a guided tour and visit
the local fresh market, bustling with colourful stalls. Visit Thalang
and Dibuk roads and take in the old Sino-Portuguese architecture. |

Arrive at Jui Tui Chinese Temple. Built in the 1920s, is the oldest
and most famous of the Chinese temples in Phuket. Its fame today
mainly rises from the Phuket Vegetarian Festival that takes place for
nine days in October each year. |

Travel to Rang Hill to enjoy panoramic views over the southern area
of Phuket. Then enjoy a delicious traditional Thai food lunch. We
have devised a menu to offer guests the opportunity to taste a wide
selection of traditional and southern Thai dishes. |

Phuket Thai Hua Museum. Located in the heart of Phuket Town, the old
Thai Hua building was the first Chinese school in Phuket. Built in 1934 by
the first generation of Hokkian Chinese this beautiful two-storey building
displays the architectural mix of Chinese and Portuguese. Inside view the
displays of the history of the school, Chinese descendents, old local dress,
cuisine, and the history of Phuket festivals, Chino-Portuguese architecture
and buildings and other aspects of Phuket history. |

After an enjoyable, cultural experience we take
guests back to the year 2008 by making the last stop
of the day at a department store. |

Board minibus and travel back to Laguna Phuket. |
